We made it to our first day of class and through our first two weeks!  We're definitely still figuring things out, like our weekly schedule and the class list, but little by little I feel like we get more figured out.  We have had 11 kids come and about 3-4 of those have come consistently.  We just had a couple of spots open on Thursday, too, and were able to invite a family with 2 more girls to start coming next week!

Here's some insight into our first couple of weeks – we've had a lot of fun!

Greeting the families at the gate and going over the morning routine

We played with the parachute, thanks to Denver K-Life who donated it!

We've been learning colors by connecting them to the gospel (from the "Wordless Book"), bible verses, and we have started practicing writing our name!

Last week 4 trees were given to the property and we offered to plant them with the kids so that we could do a lesson with it.  If you know me at all you know I love trees, so I had a blast!  : )  The kids were excited, too, to pick which trees go where, help put them in their holes, fill them with dirt, and give them water!

Now we have 4 beautiful trees to welcome all of our beautiful children every morning!

The last 2 weeks have brought their fair share of challenges, hard conversations, lack of Spanish, and more, but thinking back to what all we did and the direction we're headed because of all of it, is really encouraging!  I wrote in my journal the other day that James' words have never rang more true in my life than right now…

"My brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of any kind, consider it nothing but joy, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance; and let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking in nothing"  (James 1: 2-4)

So, bring on the challenges if it means at the end of this I can handle more, love more, and look more like Christ!

Also, my parents got their plane tickets, THEY'RE COMING TO VISIT ME!!!!  October 5, come on!

Until next time…

Much love!
